"Pugs" have a bad reputation as a fat and lazy breed and many people think that we can only jump on the sofa... It's about time the world see pugs as a healthy and active breed of dogs...
Our agility titles: Balearic champion 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. National champion in 2011 and 2012, finished second due to injury in 2013. In 2013 we also represented España at EO in Belgium and won 4 rosettes at the International Agility Festival in grade 6 with a 4th, 8th and 9th place and 1st place at the IFCS qualifier at Oxford.
Top 3 on every class at the Jersey Agility festival and made the small final. Pepito and Wilson have won titles too at trials like the Fab Show in Oxford UK in 2013 and team events with Pancho and many podiums at the Jersay agility festival too. Training February 2013 including a course ran by Danw Weaver from the US.

After 2 weeks off for my Pancho, we were supposed to go to Ibiza for a FCI trial but the ferry was cancelled so we stayed home and trained at our club.
This course was more or less a jumping that Dawn Weaver ran in the U.S with Breezer. I had to twick it a little because my ring was smaller. I wanted to see if I would run it as well but as usual Dawn made it look so easy. I was happy with my own run and Pancho did great especially from jump 14 to 15. (Dawn's video of the course is below).
Now an agility course I designed myself, a little of everything: front crosses, wraps, layering, etc...
Pancho had a great run I just had to be careful at the sea saw because Pancho is always fast to get off, so on the second run you will see that I added the hoop at the sea saw and it made it easier for me to position myself.
This is Dawn's run with Breezer, enjoy.

Shaping training

This week Pancho is having some time off and to make sure he is not getting borded we are having mental training with SHAPING!!

Shaping is a great way for your dog to use his brain and spend a great time with you.

Most people use a clicker but I'm not a fan of those becasue I want to keep it as simple as possible with just food and plenty of LOVE...

On the internet you will find a lot of videos on shaping, so have fun and your imagination is the limit.

Our latest competition at our club

This weekend we had a competiton at our club. Saturday was brillliant with 2 beautiful clear rounds from Panpan and did both times the best time over all and was also over all winner, so proud of my baby boy. On Sonday we have a bad contact at the dog walk but my fault and a stupid elimination at the weave at the jumping and I'm so frustrated about it.
You will see that Pancho tripped on sunday's jumping and I'm not sure if he was affected by it, but he missed the pole before last. By the time I saw that he wasn't coming out from the right side it was too late for me to stop him from jumping the next jump... I feel terrible about it.

Baby Wilson did a great job in grade 0 and is really enjoying agility. Enjoy watching my boys.

Clay pugs

I had some times in my hands and I thought I would try to make my babies out of clay, there you have it :)
This is the link where you can find out how I made those beautiful babies

Starting in agility with fondation training

We all need to start some day but it's always hard to know where to beggin. This is why Wilson and I made this video to help you out... When you start jumping is not the first thing that you do, first your dog needs to understand "body language" which will help with the control later on.
I hope the following video will make sence and as with every young dog, patience and rewards go a long way.

Latest competiton february 2013

This weekend we went to Son Gual and we had a good weekend. Pancho was a nightmare at the start line by breaking the sit stay constantely... It is fustrating when you tell him over and over but he so kine to start he doesn't listen...
Apart from that I can honestly say that we had beautiful rounds, my handling was on the money most of the time and it's such a pleasure when all goes as you want them to go.
I'm so lucky because Pancho gives me 100% all the time and was faster over all at the 2 jumpings. We still have a few things to correct but I'm so happy and positive.
Baby Wilson also raced and did brilliantly, he is 2 years old soon and is finally mature enough to race in grado 0. Pepito also raced with a young boy in grado 0 and with his experience in the ring he made the little boy's job very easy.
