"Pugs" have a bad reputation as a fat and lazy breed and many people think that we can only jump on the sofa... It's about time the world see pugs as a healthy and active breed of dogs...
Our agility titles: Balearic champion 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. National champion in 2011 and 2012, finished second due to injury in 2013. Represented Spain at the World Agility Open in 2011, 2012 where we make the penthalon finales each year and in 2014 we were picked as a wild card and once again made the finales of the penthalon 14th overall and biathlon 23rd, I'm so proud of my Pancho for all his hard work....Yes a Pug at the World championships!!! In 2013 we also represented España at EO in Belgium and won 4 rosettes at the International Agility Festival in grade 6 with a 4th, 8th and 9th place and 1st place at the IFCS qualifier at Oxford.
Top 3 on every class at the Jersey Agility festival and made the small final. Pepito and Wilson have won titles too at trials like the Fab Show in Oxford UK in 2013 and team events with Pancho and many podiums at the Jersay agility festival too. I'm so proud of my babies, I really can't ask for more. OUR MOTO "PUGS RULE

Our latest training November 2013

The weather was so cold this month, we haven't really trained much and with Pancho's leg injury still not 100% it gave us some time off.

There you have it 4 short sequences, enjoy :)

Sequence 1: with 2 options at jump 5 and 6.
Sequence 2: you have 2 courses from 5 to 6.

Sequence 3: a lot of options there, have a go and see what works for you and your dog.
Sequence 4: that's the hardest sequence with a lot of fancy turns to try :)

Peptio at the national championships Madrid 2013

My little Pepito was the only "Flying pugs" at the national championships, Pancho is still resting his leg and couldn't compete.
Here is the video of his 2 courses, due to a pole down we miss 3rd place, I'm a little disappointed for Pepito but he did a great job anyway by finishing 4th of the small and 14th overall!!!.
I had to collect Pancho's secod place for the national championships, I was also very disappointed becasue Pancho couldn't defend his title he held for the last 2 years :( I also collected his title of Balearic champion league cat 40cm for the 3rd year running, so proud of my Panpan.

Quick practice november 2013

Wilson and Pepito are helping me with my handling, I need to practice my Ketschkers and blind turns.

With Wilson I had to adjust it a little it was too hard to go from jump 3 to 4 :)
Enjoy :)

Formula 1 pugs!!

Pepito and Wilson having a great time, I love to see my boys going mad :)

Happy dogs is all I ask.

Shaping is fun!!

Many people have dogs but they don't use their best friends mental capacities to their best. Dogs like us humans LOVE to be challenged mentally, this is why SHAPING is a great to way watch your dog find solutions to challenges.

The following video will show you how hard Wilson and Pepito will try to find the solution. In theis case to have 4 paws and sit on a fitness flat ball. As for Pancho it only took him 3 seconds to do it, that dog is so clever!!!!
Shaping is not easy for us humans... lol because we can't physically help or show them what to do it's UP TO YOUR DOG to find out what you want, yes it's a waiting game but worth the rewards. I use a clicker as it is the best way to reward your dog quickly.

No rest for the wicked

While Pancho is off training due to is foot, the babies Wilson and Pepito are having fun :)
We are enjoy the nice weather to train with more and more difficultes, like tunnel under the contacts and different shape jumps like the wheel :)

This Panchos video of the physio work he is doing.
The health of my dogs is primordial so no expense spared to make sure they are in not in pain and happy.

Contact training with Wilson and Pepito

Pancho had to have some time off to get his foot back to form. Get well soon baby boy.
So we are training with the 2 monsters Wilson and Pepito with our brand new contact jumps from Doggy Jumps.
Wilson fell off a dog walk in May this year and was very scared, so we had to start again and get his confidence back. Thanks to the very good quality of the jumps it didn't take long to have fly again :)
Pepito also had issues with the see saw so again with the way you can adjust the jumps it was very helpful.

KC Agility Festival 2013

Still in the UK, we then went to the International agility Festival with just classes for Pancho. Due to a foot injury Panpan could only jump jumpings and he did a very good job with a 4th, place, 8th and 9th. I can't ask for more from my beautiful baby boy.
The courses were very interesting and the ground a joy to run on, a big thank you to my Pancho for all his efforts.

FAB agility show Oxford 2013

After Belgium we went to England to compete at the FAB show in Oxford. The show was organised by Dawn Weaver and all 3 babies Pancho, Pepito and Baby Wilson competed.
Pepito and Wilson did very well with 4 rosettes for Pepito and 1 for Wilson.
And Pancho also won 3 rosettes including a first place at the IFCS qualifer agility.
I have to say the show was very well organised and the hight of the poles very good for Baby Wilson at 25cm, this is the video of all my babies in the ring, enjoy :)

The European championships 2013

In July we went to Belgium to represent España at the European championships. We had to camp and we also used the trip as a pug holiday :)
Pancho ran in team and individual events. In the team event we finished 35th team out 93, a very good results for the team. And in the individual we had a good run at the agility and a stupid elimination at the jumping... Yes Mom did it again.
This is a quick video with all our runs :)

Our last trial june 2013

I forgot to post our last trial. It was ok I guess, Pepito won the over all 30/40cm class (so proud of him) and Pancho came 3rd with an elimination but with 3 good other rans despite the poles.
Even Baby Wilson ran and was a real little star!!
Pugs rule!!!

Final training before the European championships in Belgium july 2013

Now long now before the European championships in Blegium so I had to run a full course with all the contacts, all the tunnels, and a double.
Despite loosing my footing before the wall on that crap gravel that we have at our club I was very happy with my Panpan's run. Can't wait to be there and see many friends.

Weave training with Baby Wilson

Baby Wilson will compete with the big dogs in the UK, so we had to move on with our weave training!!
Pugs are very clever little dogs so it wasn't a problem and you will see how quickly he is learning.

I'm a very proud mom :)

Short sequences July 2013 with Pancho and Wilson

With the heat we worked on short sequences and try a few options with my handling. Pancho was doing great and baby Wilson is really coming along too. Very proud of my pugs.

Enjoy :)

Short sequences training June 2013

It is nice to have some time off from trials and we used that time to rest and to work on some of our weaknesses like the dog walk, 45 degree weave entrance and some handling sequences.
This weekend we have a trial but I will use it to work on our sit stay and dog walk contact. We have some big plans for Julio and August with the European championships in Belgium where we will run in individual and team.

And then we will be off to the UK for Dawn Weave's FAB show and then the International agility Festival.
So we need to be ready for those 3 main events and have fun!!.

Training June 2013

After the Spanish championships where we had a brilliant jumping but a few nagging problems with the contact at the dog walk and the weave entrance, we had to go back to some specific training.
I went back to Dawn Weaver's book and came across a course from the IFCS World champ 2008. That course had what we needed to training.
At jump 14 to 15 I had a few problems because Pancho kept going for the dog walk, so I had to find a solution. By moving forward Pancho wasn't really looked at me, so I had to wait for him to clear the A frame and then move forward to the tunnel and that's it problem solved :)

FCI Spanish Championships 2013

Went to Madrid for the FCI Spanish Championships. Pancho did a brilliant job by getting 10 clear agility and jumping to get his place. By the way you need a clear agility and jumping on the same day... not that easy. And to make matters worse we started to compete in FCI in January which left us just 3 months to do it.

At the jumping we finished 6th overall with a very nice clear round. The carpet was very so slippery, Pancho was all over the place in the weave and I didn't take any risks on turns, which made us a little slower than usual.

As for the agility we droped a pole but that has my fault as I was so worried he would slip and I slowed down Pancho too much. The bad weave entrance was also my fault due to a bad line and the contact has been a problem for a few months now.

Over all I'm very happy with our performance despite the bad carpet Pancho did me proud.

A week before the Spanish Championships 2013

We are a week away from the Spanish championships in Madrid and I wanted to have a quick training with Pancho. The course is from an American trial and I really enjoyed running it as well as Pancho :) Enjoy

Wilson and a scary moment

I went to the vet for Wilson because I saw a pink ulcer on his eye lid. Mar our eye specialist took a sample and it was positive for Leishmaniasis. Blood sent to the lab to see if it's a localised infection which can be teated well or a full virus which can be fatal..

After 3 days of waiting the test came back as negative for body infection but the virus was still located inside the ulcer and we have to have 3 treatments to make sure it's gone for good.... In 6 months time we need to have another blodd test to make 100% sure that the virus is not there. http://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/infectious-parasitic/c_dg_leishmaniasis#.UYPqfspfaDc.
We are not going to let that virus beat us and we are going to keep active and happy.

FCI Alicante 2013

This weekend was like last weekend's competiton for me... Pressure on my shoulders!!! After winning the Balearic championships for the 3rd year, Pancho had to get his last FCI point to be able to go to the Spanish championships in Madrid in a month time...
We had to travel to Alicante to compete. It wasn't a straight forward trip, we had to fly to Valencia and then drive 185km to get to our destination.
Saturday's result was what we needed!!! with 2 brilliant clear rounds and got us our last needed point. We won grade 2 &3 in cat mini/midi and came 3rd over all :)
Sunday was as good as the day before with 2 clear rounds and again Panpan won grade 2 &3 cat mini/midi and came1st over all too!!! We also won the 2 day over all classification, I'm so proud of my baby boy for all his effort despite the very bad weather.
I'm so happy we have now the 4 points we needed to qualify for the championships and I'm a very lucky mom to have such a brilliant little trooper!!
